Delete your YurMe account & data
You can request deletion of your YurMe account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. We'll confirm by email and complete the deletion within 30 days.
How to request deletion
Option 1 — From your dashboard
Sign in, open Settings → Security, and choose Delete my account. You'll confirm via the email on file.

- We acknowledge your request by email within 2 business days.
- If you used the email option, we verify the request is from the account holder.
- Your account is deactivated immediately so it stops appearing in search.
- Personal data is permanently deleted from our production systems within 30 days.
- Backups containing your data are purged on our standard rotation (up to 90 days).
- You get a final confirmation email once deletion is complete.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (name, photo, bio, contact details, attributes, dateOfBirth)
- Portfolio media, showreels, and uploaded files
- Applications submitted to jobs and casting calls
- Auditions, invitations, and bookings tied to your account
- Messages and chat history initiated by your account
- Saved searches, bookmarks, and likes
- Login credentials, OAuth links (Google, Facebook), and tokens
- Talent-roster entries if you're an agency (your roster members will be notified)
What we retain (and why)
A small amount of data has to be kept to comply with law or to protect legitimate business interests. We minimise and anonymise wherever we can.
- Financial records — invoices, payouts, and tax-relevant transactions, retained for the period required under Indian tax law (currently 7 years).
- Trust & safety records — if your account was involved in a reported violation, a minimal record (account ID, decision, date) is retained so we can enforce future bans.
- Anonymised analytics — aggregate usage metrics that cannot be tied back to you.
- Content addressed to other users — messages you sent to others remain in their inboxes (we delete only your copy and replace your identity with “Deleted user”).
If you signed in with Google or Facebook
Deleting your YurMe account also revokes the YurMe app's access to your Google or Facebook profile. To remove YurMe from the third-party side too, visit Google Account permissions or Facebook app settings.
